About Us

Your Neighborhood Produce was founded by Christina Nelson of York County, South Carolina. Having recently moved from the west coast to the Carolinas, Christina was looking for a produce group similar to one that she had participated in at her previous residence. The search for such groups ended with no found results so Christina decided to use her previous experience and knowledge within the west coast produce group and begin her own here in the Carolinas.

“As a Mom of four children, I had grown tired of spending an incredible amount of money on produce and couldn't justify the ridiculous prices of produce any longer. I knew there had to be a more affordable way of providing fresh quality produce to my family, so instead of complaining about the situation I found a solution and opened Your Neighborhood Produce in June 2008. I opened with myself and 17 other participants and have seen that participant number grow each month. Now just 1 year later I am pleased to say that Your Neighborhood Produce serves over 1700 participants" says Your Neighborhood Produce founder, Christina Nelson.
